SILENZIO

Il terremoto del 6 febbraio del 1971 rade al suolo una città e causa 31 vittime, 5000 persone rimaste senza niente e centinaia di feriti in un comune che contava meno di 7000 abitanti. Il 6 febbraio 1971, alle 19:09, 31 persone perdono l’opportunità di dire e fare ciò che avrebbero voluto, sotto le macerie del loro paese, crollato su sé stesso. 

Passiamo la vita pensando che tante cose si possono fare domani, che domani possiamo incontrare un amico, o che domani potremmo raggiungere il nostro amore. Ma c’è solo “oggi”, c’è solo il presente. Dovremmo vivere il momento, viverlo fino alla fine, godendo della bellezza del sorriso di un amico e amando il silenzio di due occhi che si guardano e fermano il tempo per sempre…

Il 6 febbraio 1971, alle 19.09, 31 persone persero la loro chance, lasciando ciò che avrebbero voluto dire, le persone che avrebbero voluto abbracciare, gli amici con cui avrebbero voluto condividere la gioia di una nuova nascita, sotto le macerie del loro Paese che era appena crollato su sé stesso.

The earthquake of February 6, 1971 destroyed a city and caused 31 victims, 5,000 people left with nothing and hundreds of injuries in a town that counted less than 7000 inhabitants. On February 6, 1971, at 7.09 pm, 31 people lost the opportunity to say and do what they would have liked, under the rubble of their country, which collapsed on itself.

We spend our lives thinking that many things can be done tomorrow, that we can meet a friend tomorrow, or  that we could reach our love tomorrow… but there is only “today”, there is only the present. We should live the moment, experience it till the end, enjoy the beauty of a friend’s smile, love the silence of two eyes that  look at each other and stop the time forever… 

On February 6, 1971, at 7.09 pm, 31 people lost this chance, leaving what they wanted to say, the people they wanted to embrace, the friends with whom they would like to share the joy of a new birth, under the rubble of their country that had just collapsed on itself.
